VERBIER – THE SKIING, THE RESORT, THE APRÈS SKI

Verbier is world renowned as a ski destination for free-riding, famous for it’s extensive and varied piste network and legendary off-piste skiing.  The ski area provides complete lift access through the 4 Vallées network with nearly 100 lift installations, 410km of pistes and numerous patrolled off-piste itineraries for the more experienced skier. For epic days of free-riding, the ski area will now be directly linked across to Bruson by the new tele-cabine network between Verbier – Le Chable – Bruson.
Created at altitudes of between 850 and 3330 meters, the ski runs enjoy exceptional snow conditions from November until April, and allow enthusiasts of all levels to find their ideal runs. One-third of these are classified as “blue”, or easy, one-third are “red” for intermediate skiers and the final third are “black”, i.e. reserved for the experienced. The lift network is well planned for children and beginners to easily access blue & red slopes on the main mountain as well.
The highest point of the skiing area reaches 3330 meters – the Mont-Fort glacier, infallibly offering some extra snow and a superb downhill run, via a stunning mogul section, and of course an incomparable 360° panorama of the most prestigious peaks of the Alps.
The true capital of free riding in Europe, Verbier hosts one of the world’s best-known competitions in this discipline in mid-March of each year, the Nissan Verbier Xtreme free-ride ski & snowboard competition, which takes places on the North face of the Bec des Rosses.

The Verbier ski resort is located at an altitude of 1500 metres, in the French-speaking part of the Swiss Alps. The high plateau of Verbier benefits from exceptional sunshine since it faces south-west, and opens onto a magnificent Alpine panorama ranging from the Combins massif to that of the Dents du Midi, and including Mont Blanc. The resort itself consists exclusively of wooden, chalet-style buildings, which lend it all the charm of a traditional alpine village feel.
The village atmosphere is vibrant with organised events and activities throughout the winter ski season.  For the non skier in the family or group there are numerous other sporting and recreational activities to enjoy.

Verbier is also renowned for it’s nightlife and world class mountain and village restuarants with a surprisingly wide range of shops, cafes, restaurants and lounge bars all conveniently located around the Place Central.  There is an après-ski venue for everyone, from live music in the village and just around the corner legendary wine bars & lounges, as well as the Ibiza style bar at ‘La Rouge’ and your timeless ‘Farm Club’.
